Does White take the pawn?

A real game in meatspace. I played this game in a recent State Championship tournament as white. Should I take the pawn?

Right click and highlight below for the sequence that was played...
I took the pawn knowing my opponent would play 1...Rd8, pinning the Bishop and Knight to the Queen. When he did I took a shot 2 Bxf7!. Black captures the Bishop and I played Ne5!. If he captures the N then Qxd8. If the King refuses the Knight, which my opponent did, and moves Kd8, then Qh5+. From here White has an easy win. If Kf8 then Qf7#. If Kd7 then Nc6+ and captures the Rook. Black can resign now.

Such a lopsided position though!

True, but the exercise in calculating is still there.

Do you think that was your best series of moves?
What about still taking the pawn with the bishop, being pinned with by the rook, then moving Queen to give check to the king. You could also have kept the bishop in any event by moving it to the c4 square protecting the knight. But as you said, it did take some calculating on your part. Well done, CU at a tourney soon....
